DESCRIPTION:As part of Bloomberg’s London Buyside Week (3/4 October) Ruari Hamlin will be moderating a panel discussion entitled “How much should research cost in a post MiFID II world?” on Day 2 of the conference which focuses on regulation\, new technology and fintech.\nThis panel will focus on pricing strategy and negotiations between the buyside and the sellside. A topic which has dominated the news for the last month or so. Euro IRP has commissioned this independent report – the third report on the research market we have asked CSFI to undertake – to examine the challenges facing the buy-side\, sell-side and independents under the far-reaching changes being adopted under MiFID II. \nThe report has been authored by Jane Fuller\, Co-director of the CSFI and former Financial Editor of The Financial Times. We are very grateful to Jane for giving her time to speak to our members in an exclusive preview of the report next Wednesday.  Whilst news about the report will be embargoed until official publication on 23 October\, Jane will be presenting the key findings.  Due to the embargo we will be unable to provide a recording or webex for this event\, but we are considering whether it is possible to live stream the event and would be interested to learn of any non-UK based members who would join a live streaming service. \nWhilst reports will not be available before publication\, all members will receive three complimentary copies following publication on 23 October. \nOur hope is that all our members will support us with this important initiative and very much look forward to seeing those members that can travel to the event next Wednesday. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce the new CSFI report on the future for investment research will be published on Monday 23rd October. \nWe have commissioned this third special report – undertaken by an independent body with the stature of CSFI –   to examine the challenges facing IRPs\, the buy-side\, and the sell-side\, under the far-reaching changes adopted under MiFID II.  This new report follows on from the two prior CSFI reports –  “Has Independent Research come of Age?” in 2011 and “Because they’re worth it?” in 2012. \nAs discussed at our AGM\, the imminent onset of MiFID II makes this exactly the right time for this new report\, creating potential to further raise the profile both of independent research and of Euro IRP\, with both the media and the regulators. \nThe report has been authored by Jane Fuller\, former Financial Editor of the Financial Times\, and we are very grateful to Jane for her time to speak to our members\, at a special breakfast briefing\, on Wednesday 18 October in an exclusive preview to the report. \nFollowing the report’s publication\, CSFI will host a Report Launch Event with Panel Discussion on Tuesday 24 October at The London Capital Club.  We look forward to welcoming our members to this special evening\, as well as CSFI members and supporters\, press and media. \nAll members will receive invitations to both these events together with three complimentary copies of the report next week. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce the CSFI Report Launch on Tuesday 24 October at The London Capital Club.  CSFI will be hosting a Drinks Reception with Panel Discussion to mark the publication of our third CSFI report on the research market. \nWith the report examining the challenges facing the buy-side\, sell-side and independents under the far-reaching changes adopted under MiFID II\, we hope the report will engage discussion and debate during this special Report Launch\, as well as generate interest with both the media and the regulators. \nAndrew Hilton\, CSFI Director\, will be hosting the evening\, with the report’s author\, Jane Fuller presenting findings from the report. To help lead the debate CSFI are delighted to welcome to the panel\, Chris Deavin\, Euro IRP Chairman\, Jonathan Ford\, City Editor of the Financial Times and Philip Augar\, author and commentator on finance\, whose books include ‘Chasing Alpha’. \nWe hope all our members will want to join us at this special evening to mark the publication of the new CSFI Report.
