DESCRIPTION:Special Euro IRP Members’ Meeting with Panel Discussion – Navigating the regulatory landscape \n4.30-4.45         Welcome + refreshments\n4.45-4.50         Introduction by Chris Deavin\, Chairman\n4.50-5.00         Regulatory statement by Glenn Bedwin\n5.00-6.00         Panel Discussion with Q&A\n6.00-7.00         Members’ drinks \nWe are delighted to be hosting a special members’ meeting on Wednesday 1 November to bring our membership together to discuss and debate\, alongside a panel of guest speakers\, the challenges that now faces the industry and our members with the adoption of MiFID II in January 2018. \nFollowing the positive feedback received from our panel discussion at this year’s AGM\, our aim is to create a forum\, exclusively for our members\, in which they can discuss and debate the issues that are fueling the questions around how MiFID II will shape their independent research businesses\, whilst providing an opportunity to share experiences and insights\, challenge concepts and concerns and realise opportunities that MiFID II could afford the IRP community next year. \nWith many of our European and American members in the UK for the Unbundling Conference hosted by Substantive Research the following day\, we look forward to welcoming our UK based members\, alongside those members from Continental Europe and America. \nOur panel will be moderated by Steve Kelly\, who will be joined by: \nSandy Bragg\, Co-Founder Integrity Research\, bringing a US viewpoint to the debate\nNeil Scarth\, Founder Frost Consulting\, bringing his insight from the buy-side\nPierre-Yves Gauthier\, Co-Founder AlphaValue\, Euro IRP board member\, bringing a French perspective to the panel\nGlenn Bedwin\, COO Absolute Strategy Research\, Euro IRP board member\, bringing his MiFID II regulatory expertise to the meeting \nWe will be serving welcome refreshments for all members wanting to arrive early\, at 4.30pm\, and will start the meeting promptly at 4.45pm with a short regulatory statement presented by Glenn Bedwin.   This will highlight any updates from the association’s last regulatory briefing (28 July) and our more in-depth session given at the AGM (4 May).
